Nemetona

I'm so proud to have envisioned this women's weekend that I hosted for 11 years when I lived in Central Alberta. My intent was to offer an affordable and meaningful retreat experience for women, to make connections and learn about many different self-care and spiritual modalities. The pure intent of love and acceptance was set, which raised the vibration and helped create the container for the highest good, wholeness and healing. This co-created event was possible because attendees responded with their offerings when I put out my Call for Speakers. These women generously donated their time to share their knowledge and gifts with us all. Thank you so much to all those presenters, I truly couldn't have done it without you!

Since I moved to Vancouver Island in 2020 Nemetona retreats have continued with new a new hostess and facilitators, and I'm so honoured and pleased to know the vision carries on. These Nemetona retreats empower and connect women and allow for the experience of SELFishness.

Nemetona, also known as She of the Sacred Grove, is the Celtic goddess of power places, sacred grounds and circles, labyrinths, and medicine wheels. In ancient times, Celts never held sacred ceremonies indoors—they were always held in open-air settings. Nemetona watched over these gatherings in the way that an angel or master would watch over a church or temple today. Infused with ancient energy, she stands guard over power places, holding in the energy of the prayers invoked by people who visit these lands. Nemetona has overseen outdoor sacred rituals and ceremonies throughout time. Nemetona says, "When you pray in a sacred power place, you join in a simultaneous reality with ancient rituals being currently performed in a parallel dimension. Prayers for increased power, psychic abilities, and manifesting abilities join with ancient tribal dances and sacred-rite prayers."

Nemetona's themes are wishes, boundaries, protection, joy, fairies, magic, luck and nature, and her symbols are trees. Nemetona guards groves of trees with a special protective presence that marks the area as a sacred site. Within this space, the soul is hushed and calm, becoming one with nature and the energy of the Goddess.

Janice will always be remembered as our wonderful and gifted shamanic practitioner.

"At Nemetona, we gather and bond and find a kindred spirit in one or more in the circle. It was such an amazing energy to be in and part of; with so much love, joy, respect, and harmonious acceptance. I arrived and knew this is where I fit... this is where I could just be and let be."
